How dependent are you online?
I used to say that I could live without internet and a laptop/pc but now I realized, I don’t think I can. It seems to be the most convenient thing ever invented to simplify our life and make it more convenient. You see, my folks 2 personal computers have caught some unwanted virus and I feel so bad that I have not spoken with my mom for almost a week now. My brother in California have been asking me for updates because internet, IM, YM and other means to communicate online are to no avail as of the moment. We have finally resorted to calling them on the phone which of course is a lot more expensive.

I would be very busy this weekend, that’s why I am leaving you with an early Happy Weekend greeting. Hope you all have a good one! Before we bask to another hectic week ahead, here’s leaving you some beautiful advices which a good friend sent me over the email.

1. Pray
2. Go to bed on time.
3. Get up on time so you can start the day unrushed.
4. Say No to projects that won’t fit into your time schedule, or that will compromise your mental health.
5. Delegate tasks to capable others.
6. Simplify and unclutter your life.
7. Less is more. (Although one is often not enough, two are often too many.)
8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to places.
9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don’t lump the hard things all together.
10. Take one day at a time.
11. Separate worries from concerns . If a situation is a concern, find out what God would have you do and let go of the anxiety . If you can’t do anything about a situation, forget it.
12. Live within your budget; don’t use credit cards for ordinary purchases.
13. Have backups; an extra car key in your wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, extra stamps, etc.
14. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble..
15. Do something for the Kid in You everyday.
16. Carry a Bible with you to read while waiting in line.
17. Get enough rest
18. Eat right.
19 Get organized so everything has its place.
20. Listen to a tape while driving that can help improve your quality of life.
21. Write down thoughts and inspirations.
22. Every day, find time to be alone.
23. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud. Don’t wait until it’s time to go to bed to try and pray.
24. Make friends with Godly people.
25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.
26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often a good ‘Thank you Jesus .
27. Laugh.
28. Laugh some more!
29. Take your work seriously, but not yourself at all.
30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most people are doing the best they can).
31. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).
32. Sit on your ego
33 Talk less; listen more.
34. Slow down.
35. Remind yourself that you are not the general manager of the universe.
36 Every night before bed, think of one thing you’re grateful for that you’ve never been grateful for before.

I had a good time catching up with my Russian classmate turned friend yesterday. We were laughing so hard as she tells me her tales on her driving lessons. Then, we bumped into one of our professors. She is our favorite professor to date. She came to ask us if we opted to do our remaining quarter courses online or in-campus. You see, it does not really matter how you earned your degree or if you went to online colleges or universities who only offer in-campus classes. The most important factor is that you are able to complete the degree, now, that is something to be very proud of.

a Wikipedia Book!

So what is that picture about? Is it for real?
Yes peeps, it is! Apparently, Rob Matthews created that 5000-page Wikipedia which he is planning to sell. It includes 400 articles and still adding. However, here’s a little trivia. Most universities in the United States do not accept Wikipedia as their students’ reference most especially the Graduate school. My University for instance will give us a deduction if we use Wikipedia as one of our researches’ references. I guess because not all information here are verified.

And this book is probably just a small portion of what is in the online site of Wikipedia.

DSLR and any of these…

Enough of my unnecessary shopping, read: bags and clothes. I should start focusing on what DH and I want for Christmas.  A DSLR is in the works and any of these 2. I really love to have a DSLR but one must understand that carrying a crumpler bag can be such a work. So, I want to have a Lumix too. It has almost the same image resolution of a DSLR minus the heavy baggage.

No matter how many times I look at the Capitol Building of D.C., I still get mesmerized. It is so just beautiful and very historical. Picturesque, indeed.

reminiscing.

I still remember the very 1st Christmas of my son. We had to make it pretty special and celebrate it with friends and relatives. So, I organized this party and send out Holiday Christmas Invitations similar to the Christmas invitations cards I saw at http://www.holiday-invitations.com/. The invitations Christmas party card in the photo is very similar to the one we sent out. It had a photo of our son. Some friends and relatives were so excited to come because that would be their first time to see our son. Now that he is 4, we are thinking of sending out Christmas holiday invitations or maybe just a greeting card to friends and relatives, still with picture of him. Just so they would be updated of how much he has grown.

somebody just turned 6!

I am helping out my bestfriend to plan out her son’s 6th birthday celebration. At first, she was hesitant to host a party because of a traumatizing child birthday party last year and even her son could not forget. But after receiving so many kids party invitations and attending them in the past year, her son kinda forgot about the incident and my friend thought it might be part of the healing process to hold a 6th birthday party for him. I am tasked to make a design for the children birthday invitations and this task was quite easy because I have previously ordered some Invitations Kids Birthday cards at http://www.express-invitations.com/ and they were very prompt with the delivery. I guess I will do just that. For the meantime, any ideas on a Spiderman-themed party?
