Marriage Takes Time

Since hubby and I will be celebrating our 5th year together as husband and wife in a few more days from now, I thought of sharing this email that was forwarded to me by a dear friend. You will truly learn from it. I did.

And yes marriage takes time, it is but hardwork and could be tested by time :) .

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.–Psalm 46:10

Some days I think men, especially, inherit a double dose of impatience. That could explain why so many of us despise shopping and mutter when the driver in front of us balks at turning right on red. More than once, my wife, Debi, has said, “Sometimes I just don’t understand you at all!” Well, I haven’t completely figured her out, either. After more than 20 years of marriage, we need to learn so much more about living and loving as husband and wife. And it takes time.

But why is that so exasperating? My guess is it’s part of human nature. A congenital hurry-bone of contention inherited from Adam and Eve, who started the whole business by eating an apple guaranteed to give them instant knowledge.

When we live by the false “faster is better” creed, we lose sight of the contrasting truth: Relationships take lots of time to develop and nurture. They demand long hours and years and even decades of work. But when you stop to consider the alternative, it’s clear that marriage is worth the time. Why hurry to divorce court when you can take your time and nurture a deep commitment for the rest of your life?

I am just lucky that I did not have any issues with acne nor pimples as I was growing up other wise, it would lead to pimple scars or worst, Keloid. You see, when I get wounded, the marks stay for a week, it would darken and then eventually be a Keloid. That is the main reason why I am very careful with my skin because even a small scratch can lead to a huge Keloid.

I remember watching this movie which tackles on herpes spreading in a certain highschool. Apparently, the story was lifted from a true story and it was an educational movie for other teeners. You see, Herpes can be really contagious and if not treated early with a reliable and effective herpes cure could lead to more serious condition. I guess it is important for every parent, physician and teacher to discuss this health matter to their children and students so that if ever they think they have symptoms, they would not conceal it from them.

concealer to the rescue.

I cannot live without a concealer, that is the story of my life. Even as a kid and even if I have slept more than 12 hours a day, I already have dark circles under my eyes. This was the main reason why I developed a love affair with make-up. I need to learn how to conceal those dark circles and blemishes in my skin. Or maybe, I should try those cucumber tips, what do you think?

One Pop a Day.

Looks like I am going to have sniffles a week before our trip. Yikes! I have no one else to blame but myself. I have been working hard the past days and forgetting to take my daily vitamins. I am trying to lose another 5lbs before the wedding of my friend and I think that by not taking my multivitamins, I would have less appetite. I guess I push myself too hard. Or maybe, I could click here and check what other vitamins would improve my immune system without giving me more appetite nor give in to my food cravings.

hormonal.

I have mentioned more than a couple of times before that I am blessed with my mom’s genes when it comes to my skin. I can only count in 1 hand the times I had serious pimple. However, my dad had serious acne problems when he was growing up and had to turn to reliable skin acne cream for the whole of his adolescent years.

But to my surprise, the stress at work and my lack of sleep, I think I might need this acne cream to save me before our trip as I have 2 huge zits on my forehead now. Could be hormonal too because it is the time of the month again but I hope I get rid of them next week, at least.
